You can collect the Fodder gear (1 & 2 stars) through the story play and also in event stages.

Enhancing Gear in Artery Gear Fusion

You can enhance a gear piece through the following methods:

• You can only upgrade the fodder gear by using the same gear type and therefore only a gun can be used to upgrade another gun.
• For upgradation of the gun, core, plate and thruster, you can use the green XP chip and a blue XP chip can be used to upgrade the scope and chip.
• After reaching a certain enhancement level, you can unlock the sub stats for a gear piece and it can be enhanced up to +15.
• 1st ubstat slot unlocks at +3
• 2nd substat slot unlocks at +6
• 3rd substat slot unlocks at +10
• 4th substat slot unlocks at +15
